2005 Minority and Indigenous Fellows Program

As part of our commitment to promoting diversity within the life sciences, Adsumo and The Scientist are partnering with the Biotechnology Institute to promote the 2005 Minority and Indigenous Fellows Program.

This unique and forward looking program is open to undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students, as well as faculty members from under-represented minority groups.

The program provides each fellow with a mentor from the biotech industry for one year. Over the course of the year, the mentor provides the fellow with invaluable insight into the possibilities of a career in biotech, and the promise of industry as a whole.

The Fellows will also have the opportunity to attend the BIO 2005 International Annual Convention in Philadelphia in June, 2005. Here they will meet their mentors, attend the Convention and take part in a series of panels and sessions with topics including bioethics, careers, and minority health issues.

Your help is critical to the success of the program. Attached to this email is a pdf that gives more details on the program and also contains the program application. We ask that you forward this to any members of your faculty and to any of your students who might like to take advantage of this tremendous opportunity.
