the Importance of Diversity in the USGS and Science Workforce".

The six major scientific and educational institutions of Woods Hole are hosting a Diversity Celebration to express the importance of understanding and promoting diversity. This year’s speaker is Dr. Isiah Warner from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, http://www.chem.lsu.edu/imw/group/warner.htm. There will be a short question and answer period will follow.

A celebratory fest will then be held from 5 – 6:30 pm. All events
will be held in the tent, on the lawn behind WHOI Challenger House.
There will be food, displays, and donations from local businesses among
other items. Multi-ethnic music will be provided by the band Explicit
Noise. Admission is free.
With the participation of employees and the public we aim to raise awareness in our community that the beauty and richness of life is its diversity…
